Description

This Astrobin Debut Object is a spiral galaxy located 100 million light years away in the constellation of Canes Venatici at a declination of +47 degrees.  It is a magnitude 12 galaxy which spans 1.7 arc-minutes in our apparent view.  This corresponds to a diameter of 50,000 light years.

From our view perspective, the disk is inclined about 30 degrees from face-on.

Although small and hard to see, an intense reddish star-forming nuclear ring surrounds the small yellow core.

Several blue star clouds are seen in the outer disk region.  The arm structure appears more diffuse towards the left and right edges of the outer disk.
